In this page you will find all the details about tickets and cards to travel on board of Arriva Italia buses

Arriva Italia travel tickets can be purchased at ticket offices and authorized resellers; the list is available at this link.

Travel tickets subject to validation (single journey, multi-journey booklet, weekly passes) must be validated as soon as you enter the bus; in case of malfunction of the validator, the traveler is required to immediately notify the driver by presenting the travel document.

With the exception of annual passes, all other types of passes are valid only if combined with a personal ID card, the number of which must always be correctly entered on the subscription itself.

Travelers in possession of season tickets or Regional Transport Cards issued by the Regions or documents of free circulation, upon boarding the bus, must show the driver the travel document.

Travelers are required to show the travel document at each check carried out by the staff. If you are not in possession of the document or if the latter is irregular, you will be fined a  penalty determined in accordance with the current provisions of the law.

This sanction is also applied in the event that the passenger is unable to show, at the same time as the season ticket, their identification card and / or when the card number has not been, as expected, reported in the season ticket.

The company reserves the right to take any legal action against travelers in possession of altered or inauthentic travel documents.

Travelers with IVOP / IVOL cards must keep the receipt (or a photocopy) of the receipt or top-up made, for any visual checks.

All travel documents also are fiscal receipt and therefore must be kept intact for the entire duration of the trip, at the descent and in the immediate vicinity, in order to allow any fiscal check. These checks can be carried out both on board the vehicle and in the immediate vicinity of the stop locations.

All season tickets, with the exception of annuals, must be accompanied by the ID card issued, after completing an application form available at retail outlets. The identification card is valid for 5 years and is issued by the operator, upon payment of an amount of € 16,00 (Bergamo) of € 5,00 (Lecco) to partially cover the issue costs.

The identification card can be signed:

  • at authorised local retailers (available at this link). At the time of purchase, the resale will clearly indicate on the subscription coupon the identification card number and the period of validity;
  • at the Bergamo Infobus counter in Piazza Marconi, 4 or at the company counters in Lecco in Via della Pergola, 2;
  • via subscription portal (available at this link). The online subscription card is free and available in digital format, in order to purchase the associated travel documents through the Arriva My Pay App.

One Way travel ticket

The single journey ticket allows you to make only one journey on the route corresponding to the fare class provided. The Ticket must be validated at usage on board of the bus and kept for the entire duration of the trip.

The user in possession of a single journey ticket is not allowed any travel interruption, except in cases where it is necessary to change the bus or line to complete the chosen route.

Other tickets

Every traveller, equipped with a travel document, can bring with him a small pet provided that the same has been applied a device to make it harmless (muzzle, leash, cages, boxes, etc.).

The transport of animals in tow involves the purchase of the ticket according to the tariffs in force.

Guide dogs for blind persons shall be allowed to travel free of charge unless the blind person is accompanied by an accompanying person who is entitled to travel free of charge.

Each traveller may only carry one piece of baggage free of charge, provided that the dimensions do not exceed cm. 50x30x25; for each additional piece of baggage and for those exceeding the above mentioned dimensions, the ticket must be purchased at the tariff in force.

Travel pass

The passes are personal, non-transferable and give the right to make an unlimited number of trips without time limitations. Subscriptions, except for the one-year travel pass, must bear the identification card number in the space provided on the subscription coupon. The weekly and monthly travel passes must be validated on the first trip and can be used by the holder only if accompanied by the ID card issued by the company.

The 7 days weekly pass can be purchased:

The monthly pass is valid from the first to the last day of the month of issue including public holidays. Even the monthly pass is personal and non-transferable, gives you the right to make an unlimited number of trips without time limitations and allows you to get on or off at the intermediate stops of the route for which it was issued.

The monthly pass can be purchased:

  • On Arriva My Pay app.

The ordinary annual pass is valid for 12 months from the month of issue. As for weekly and monthly passes is personal and non-transferable, gives you the right to make an unlimited number of trips without time restrictions and allows you to get on or off at the intermediate stops of the route for which it was issued.

Bergamo’s province

The annual student subscription is valid from 1 September to 30 June (for the year 2021-2022 the annual student subscription has been extended until 31 August 2022). As for the weekly and monthly subscriptions, it is personal and non-transferable and allows the use of an unlimited number of trips on the chosen suburban route and on the Urban services requested without limitations of days and times. The ATB Integrated Annual Student Subscription can be purchased:

Line M is operated by Arriva Italia and Autoguidovie. Autoguidovie issues, for this route, single journey tickets, identification card, weekly subscription and monthly subscription. Arriva Italia issues, instead, the ordinary annual subscription, the annual student subscription and the integrated annual student subscription ATB according to the modalities of the mentioned subscriptions. The regular annual subscription, the annual student subscription and the ATB integrated annual student subscription valid on this route can be purchased:

The Bergamo – Calcinate route is served by three different routes operated by two different carriers: Sai Treviglio and Arriva Italia. The annual subscriptions issued by Arriva Italia for this route can also be used to travel on the Qb line of Sai Treviglio. The annual subscription issued by Arriva Italia for the Bergamo – Calcinate route can be purchased:

Lecco’s province

On line D80 – Oggiono Monza is in force a rate integration with Trenord that allows you to travel by bus plus train with only one ticket. The places interested in the interchange are Arcore and Monza towards Milan. The types of tickets on which the integration is valid are: ordinary single ticket, weekly subscription 7 days and monthly subscription.

On all the lines of the urban areas of Lecco operated by Arriva Italia is in force the linear tariff system articulated in kilometric distance classes valid for the suburban area, with the exception of the Urban service of Calolziocorte.

The types of tickets in force for the urban service of Calolziocorte are as follows:

  • ordinary single journey ticket: entitles you to travel for 75 minutes regardless of the number of lines used and is valid from the moment you validate it on board the bus;
  • 12-way carnet: valid for 12 journeys in the same way as the single journey ticket;
  • 7-day weekly travel pass: valid from Monday to Sunday, is personal and non-transferable, gives the right to make an unlimited number of trips without time restrictions and allows you to get on or off at the intermediate stops of the route for which it was issued.
  • ordinary monthly travel pass: valid from the first day of the month to the last, is personal and non-transferable, gives the right to make an unlimited number of trips without time restrictions and allows you to get on or off at the intermediate stops of the route for which it was issued.
  • monthly pensioners’ travel pass: can be used in the following time slots: from 08.30 to 12.30, from 14.00 to 17.00, after 19.00 and on public holidays;
  • Annual travel pass for student: valid from 1 September to 30 June. As for weekly and monthly subscriptions is personal and non-transferable, gives the right to make an unlimited number of trips without time restrictions and allows you to get on or off the intermediate stops of the route for which it was issued;
  • quarterly travel pass: valid on the first day of the month of validation until the last day of the third month, is personal and non-transferable, gives the right to make an unlimited number of trips without time restrictions and allows you to get on or off at the intermediate stops of the route for which it was issued;

Refund

Bergamo’s province

The refund of the subscription is recognized before the expiration: upon request of the user, using the Subscription Refund Form, to be presented at the company counter in Bergamo in Piazzale Marconi 4 while returning the travel document at the same time:

  • for the annual subscription, 90% of the share relating to the whole months following that in which it is returned;
  • for the monthly subscription, to the extent of 90% of the fee relating to the whole days following that in which it is returned.

In the case of subscriptions uploaded to the Arriva My Pay app, the refund request can be made via the Contact form by entering in the message the following data: Name and Surname of the subscriber – Email – No. Card – Subscription type – Start and end of subscription validity.

Lecco’s province

The refund of the subscription is granted until the remaining validity of the title is more than half of the total: upon request of the user, using the Subscription Refund Form, to be presented at the company headquarters of Via della Pergola 2 in Lecco returning the travel document at the same time:

  • for the annual subscription, 90% of the share relating to the whole months following that in which it is returned;
  • for the monthly subscription, to the extent of 90% of the fee relating to the whole days following that in which it is returned.

Most frequently asked questions

Travel documents – for which the period of validity is not indicated at the time of purchase, do not have a maturity, but must be validated at the first use on the route and on the route for which they were issued. (band tickets are valid on several routes).

The identification card can be purchased:

  • at the company counters in via della Pergola, 2 in Lecco and piazza Marconi, 4 in Bergamo;
  • at authorised local retailers (available here);
  • free of charge via online portal (available here).

In case of loss of the identification card, you can contact the lost and found office through a special form. If the card is not found, you must sign a new one.

Arriva Italia does not have tariff reductions for the elderly, for this purpose it is necessary to consult the facilities provided by the Lombardy Region.

Children under one metre of height, accompanied by an adult, travel free of charge provided they do not occupy seats and in any case up to one child per adult. When a traveller has more than one child under a metre in addition to his or her travel document, he or she must validate one ticket for every two children; non-paying children are not entitled to seat and must be carried.

At the counters of Bergamo and Lecco and through App Arriva My Pay you can buy all available travel tickets by paying by credit card or ATM. Arriva ticket dealers are not obliged to accept payment via pos.

The paper travel document fulfils the obligation to issue the tax receipt for this reason the company does not issue any additional tax documentation. In case of purchased tickets, however, you can download the summary of purchased titles.

The identification card is personal and issued for the purchase of subscriptions on specific route, so every time you have to change route you need to sign a new identification card.

Yes, IVOP and IVOL subscriptions are also valid on Arriva vehicles that provide scheduled public transport services with the exception of means that provide tourist services (e.g. Sea Lines) for which it is necessary to hold a special ticket valid for the specific route.
